Old Chicago (Nov. 11th)
(970) 482-8599
147 S College Ave Fort Collins, CO 80524
Old Chicago's is a cool place downtown Fort Collins. Some people call its "fratty" or "preppy", but I enjoy stopping in everyone once in awhile. The drinks are not cheap, but the food usually cheap after 10 pm and that usually gets us to go.
Not as busy as it used to be, there was still a fair crowd on Saturday night. After Elliot's (see below) I was craving a cheap pizza. During the week after 10 pm; they have cheap appetizers and pizzas. Weekend only have cheap pizza's. They are personal pan size pizzas, and you are only allowed one topping. That was okay for me, since I was wanting plain old pepperoni anyways. The pizza came out quickly, and really hit the spot. The pepperoni was nice and crispy, just how it should be served.
The drinks are always plentiful there, although I would not say they are cheap. During the day, most people are drinking beer. But at night, its a lot of beer, mixed drinks, and shots (although they don't serve shots after midnight). Their shots are always pretty good, and I have never complained about their mixed drinks (except for their higher than average cost). They have a beer club, so ask your server for details.
Go for the cheap late night pizza, and stay for the drinks. The staff is very good, and are always friendly and fun.
