A little out of the way bar, Sliders proved to be a fun Saturday night! It's not much to look at, nesteled in a strip mall - but the staff is very friendly and the beer is cheap.
On Saturday nights, they have domestic beers for a buck, and micros for two dollars. We were sitting at the bar, but they do have a game room with pool and many seating areas in the front. The crowd tends to be older, and less college kid infused as much of the downtown scene is. It was a nice change of pace, and the atmosphere is very mellow and laid back. They serve food until 10 pm, and although I haven't eaten there the food others ordered looked and smelled good. I did take a peek at the menu, and they have lots of hamburgers and many Mexican dishes. And yes, they do serve sliders (sliders are small little hamburgers, and usually you will get more than one - think White Castle).
The bartender and the manager were very friendly, and ended up buying us some shots. They stopped by several times in the night to just chat and see how things were doing. They have lots of beers on tap (at least 10) and keep the beer flowing. I would say that Sliders is a great place for a change of pace. Don't let the looks fool you!
